Our team’s experience is one of Horizon’s greatest strengths. With long-serving staff across every department, we provide our customers with continuity, informed advice, and a level of expertise that comes only from decades of hands-on manufacturing.

Every member of our team plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, reliable solutions. From initial enquiry to final delivery, we combine practical knowledge with a customer-focused approach to ensure every project runs smoothly and meets the exacting standards our clients expect.

Senior Management

The Horizon Group management team brings decades of hands-on experience in bespoke aluminium fabrication and manufacturing. Their deep understanding of both production and operations allows the business to deliver innovative, industry-leading solutions while maintaining consistently high standards.

Ross Ball
Managing Director

Ross’s journey with Horizon began early, working in the business during school holidays before joining full-time in 1994. Starting out in fabrication and supporting deliveries, Ross gained first-hand experience across every area of the factory while completing his business degree at Huddersfield University.

Having progressed through Assembly, Despatch and operational leadership roles, Ross was appointed Managing Director in 2015. Today, he leads the business with a strong focus on continuous improvement, operational excellence and long-term growth.

Outside of work, Ross is a keen Huddersfield Town supporter, enjoys hill walking with his dog Cooper, and values time spent with his family.

Keith Ball
Founding Director

Keith founded Horizon Group over 30 years ago and has been instrumental in shaping its growth and success. Beginning in reprographics, he guided the business through multiple phases of expansion, establishing Horizon as a trusted supplier to both public and private sectors.

Known for his forward-thinking approach and commitment to building a positive workplace culture, Keith’s influence remains a cornerstone of the business. He now enjoys time with his family and grandchildren and is a proud Huddersfield Town season ticket holder.

James Castle
Operations Manager

James joined Horizon in 2014 as Works Manager, bringing with him over 15 years’ experience managing teams within Mercedes-Benz dealerships.

His strong operational background and leadership skills play a key role in driving efficiencies across the factory, ensuring products are delivered on time and to Horizon’s exacting standards. Outside of work, James enjoys football, squash and keeping his drumming skills sharp.

Fabrication & Despatch

Our Fabrication, Powder Coating and Despatch teams are central to everything we manufacture at Horizon. With decades of combined experience, they ensure every product is expertly built, finished and delivered with care and precision.

Dave McIntosh
Fabrication Manager

Dave has been a key part of Horizon’s fabrication team for over 25 years. With extensive hands-on experience and a deep understanding of aluminium fabrication, he oversees the manufacture of our products, ensuring quality, consistency and attention to detail at every stage.

Dave Clarkson
Despatch Manager

With 25 years at Horizon, Dave plays a vital role in making sure every product leaves our factory safely, accurately and on schedule. His knowledge of our product range and logistics processes ensures smooth deliveries and a reliable service for customers nationwide.

Andy Marsden
Powder Coating Manager

Andy leads Horizon’s in-house powder coating operation, delivering durable, high-quality finishes that protect products for long-term outdoor use. With 17 years’ experience, his expertise ensures every finish meets Horizon’s performance and visual standards.

Customer Account Services

Our Customer Account Services team supports customers from initial enquiry through to delivery, ensuring clear communication, accurate processing and a smooth overall experience.

Diane Heap
Office Administrator 

Diane joined Horizon in 2015 and works within the Sales team, supporting customers with quotations and managing orders from start to finish. She works closely with production to ensure everything is scheduled correctly and delivered on time.

Diane enjoys the variety of her role and values the strong team spirit at Horizon. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and exploring the Yorkshire countryside.

Lucy Brennan
Accounts Administrator 

Lucy works within the Accounts team, managing purchases, invoicing and all incoming and outgoing payments. Her role is fast-paced and varied, which she thrives on.

She values Horizon’s supportive team culture and enjoys the challenge her role brings. Outside of work, Lucy enjoys spending time with family and friends and looks forward to travelling whenever she can.
